EFI Balance™ 3.2 makes workflow easy to use and implement in digital printing environments. The solution accepts jobs from any user on the system, provides productive editing tools, and manages jobs over a wide range of digital devices. Balance harnesses PDF-based applications, leveraging the EFI Command WorkStation® interface, industry-standard PDF technologies, and EFI Fiery® technology to create an identical look and feel for maximum user efficiency and productivity across EFI™ and non-EFI controlled devices. When integrated with EFI Digital Storefront®,* Balance delivers an end-to-end workflow solution that includes Web submission of jobs.
Feature Highlights
Advanced production capabilities. EFI’s modem Impose is a PDF-based imposition tool that saves production time and reduces costly print errors with its unique WYSIWYG imposition preview. The feature also lets users perform late-stage editing to any document with its integrated, advanced PDF utilities.
EFI Compose provides a fully-integrated tool for preparing and composing documents prior to printing. The WYSIWYG interface drives a PDF-based composition capability with page-level ticketing that is ideal for handling large complex documents with inserts, tabs, and merged files from digital or scanned hardcopies.
EFI Scan integrates production scanning of black-and-white or color documents into the Balance PDF workflow. Documents can be scanned in via a TWAIN-complaint scanner, automatically converted to PDF format for editing, and sent to the EFI Balance server for electronic copying and processing.
- Streamlines job management complexity. EFI Command WorkStation® provides consistent, centralized management with Fierys, increasing ease of use and productivity. The Centralized Paper Catalog simplifies job ticketing and automates job routing. Load balancing and routing features improve automation and productivity, while reducing errors and costs. In addition, Balance offers non-EFI system enablers, allowing Balance to integrate into existing workflows such as Xerox DigiPath™, DocuTech™/Nuvera™ and the Digimaster Family.
- Integrated workflow solution for Web. EFI Digital StoreFront* is a powerful Web submission tool for print centers. The software allows centers to accept DSF job tickets, reduce redundant data entry, decrease opportunity for errors, and enable the Balance system for DSF jobs.
EFI Balance also offers connectivity to most Fiery/Edox and other non-EFI production level digital devices.
